How to Become Your Favourite Author

One of the best ways of becoming an author is to have favourite writers and to try to write like them. The more favourite writers you have the more your own voice will emerge by trying out different ways of writing. Join us for a chat about which authors can inspire us to become writers, led by Halifax-based children’s writer, Tom Palmer. Tom is the author of 65 books about history and sport. He’s won lots of awards and was – briefly – a bestselling author. He has sold 1.3 million books so far. Tom will talk about his favourite writers, most notably Dorothy Wordsworth who was the inspiration behind his newest children’s book, Angel of Grasmere. Best known for her amazing diaries of living in Cumbria, Dorothy spent most of her childhood in Halifax.
